Did I jump the gun?

Did I attack Georgia to soon? When I first joined on Day 1, I went to war with the Bahamas and conquered them quite quickly. About halfway through my victory against the Bahamas, I moved troops into Georgia. It is almost Day 4 and my war with Georgia is coming to a close soon. Should I have waited longer before attacking? Or did I make the right decision to put myself in a good position against South Carolina and Tennessee? Louisiana is friendly so I am hoping to ally with them soon.
