UNC Charlotte 49ers - Tips?

Curious on anyone’s experience at UNC Charlotte. My son is applying for their motorsports engineering program and they are his top choice. We live in the suburbs of Chicago, not familiar with the area (prev visited blue ridge mountains and Asheville, but never been to CLT) so all tips and tricks are welcome. Any advice on financial aid, especially specific to that program is most most welcome! Thanks!
