Archdiocese Turns Latin Mass Church Into Restaurant
The old Jesuit church in Veszprém, Hungary, was unused when the Society of PiusX began celebrating Mass there in 2021. But within a few months, Veszprém Archbishop György Udvardy, 63, forbade the Mass and left the church unused again.
Last week, it was recycled as a restaurant for the Balaton Wine and Gourmet Festival (September 21-24). An announcement praised “the breathtaking interior of the former Jesuit church” and announced "guided tastings" and "gourmet experiences by national and international chefs for gourmets."
