Is it even possible to play anything except ftl and tdm in ranked solo?

Every time I try to play hardpoint or snd my team always has at least 2 players that just don't do anything. No one ever tries to do something together, and then we always end up losing the match, and it just feels like the enemy team constantly is a squad of 4 or smth. Am I just bad?
