Draw Feedback

As a bit of a New Year’s resolution and encouraged by recent events (on top of just being responsible) I am trying to get back into the habit of dry firing daily. Just 10 minutes a day over the course of a year nets me nearly 61 hours of dry fire practice, so I’m starting with that as my benchmark. Today I set my shot timer to a par of 1.5 seconds to see where I’m at and to start working my way down to that sweet sub second time. A few things I noticed today:

  1. There’s no reward for getting back to the holster as fast as possible. I need to build the habit of scanning with each rep rather than quickly re-holstering and prepping for the next rep.
  2. I seem to be getting out of the holster at a decent pace but with varied results in the way of sight acquisition. Sometimes my fastest draw reps are sloppy on presentation and I need to slow down to acquire the sights more consistently.

Open to any feedback on this video. Also please feel free to drop your dry fire drills/routines as my practice would benefit from some more structure. Thanks in advance!
