Something I don't get about canelo vs crawford
Hey everyone!
So ever since the fight got announced, basically everyone has been saying that even though crawford may be a better boxer than canelo nowadays, the weight difference would be too much of an advantage for the Mexican, but let's think about it for a second.
Allegedly, crawford is walking at 185 lbs . Canelo, on the other hand, says he walks around at 180 and many people have claimed he reached his upper limit at 175( even though bivol was 183 lbs vs him).
Now, having all that in mind and considering crawford will probably bulk up and not have to cut any weight at SM, won't they be at pretty similar weights on fight day?(175- 180 ish) Even if crawford is lying about his weight now or os just straight up fat, he was around 170 on fight day vs madrimov still having to cut for SW, so won't there be, at maximum, a 10lbs difference on fight day? And is that really that much for a higher weight classes such as SM?
I understand how some people might say that crawford is not used to the weight class, and yeah, I agree. But the weight difference by itself doesn't really look to be that big of a factor in play here. I still favor canelo, but i think the fight will be a lot closer than people might think. What do you guys think about it? Am I trippin?
