New Rule Announcement: Rule 6 - Discussion/Question threads must be engaging and interesting.
Hello all,
From recent feedback and discussion I've seen around the sub, it's clear to me that people want the question/discussion threads to stay - which is awesome!
However, it's also very clear that some of these threads are dreadfully repetitive and low effort. I believe the people who post these are aware who they are, and I hope they will adhere to the new rules.
The rule has a few different terms in it, so let me clarify these. The rule reads as follows:
"Your question/discussion posed is repetitive, insensitive or generally low effort. Please ensure all posts are engaging and generate positive discussion. "
Lets break that down.
Repetitive questions: If your question effectively is 'Celebrity, woman, who you become?' It's gotta go. They are being posted sometimes 3 or more times a day and even with slight twists like specifying age, they are simply spam.
Insensitive: A few questions posed that I've removed lately involve things such as 'Which war torn country would you swap into' and 'Could you do someones life better than them'. These both got multiple reports, and had several people upset, for very different reasons. This rule will unfortunately have to be applied at moderator discretion, however please understand if your post is sparking negativity, it will be addressed.
Low effort: Similar to repetitive, if your post is just 'Here's four images of random people who do you want to swap with', that is not something for this subreddit.
Please note - we do not want the questions to go away, a good engaging thread of comments is awesome! Keep that up ;)
