Travis M&G | Columbus 8/13 (Deluxe album should be 7 new tracks)
I hope to get other meet and greet peeps in here commenting, but I wanted to share some stuff from the meet and greet Q&A. These are the details to how I remember them… I was drinking before hand a little :\
Travis was wearing his new Vans shoes he designed.
Travis is working on Can A Drummer Get Some? 2, and was thinking of releasing it when the new Vans shoes are released.
Travis gave an aspiring 16yo drummer some wisdom on pursuing his passion. “Play with as many people as you can.”. He talked about how he was always looking for people play with, and how he would always look at ads in the papers when he was younger. Playing a lot of different styles taught him so much. He was also asked how he kept is passion for drumming alive and he talked about how he does because he loves it. That it’s not about being some mega star, but doing what you love and always continuing to develop that passion. That even now, every time he plays he still learns something and thats rewarding.
I asked what it was like to be playing +44 and Boxcar songs and he mentioned it was really cool to get to play those callbacks for fans, but they were short renditions because its really just done for an equipment change. I followed up with if he could play full length songs, what would he choose, and he said still those two. That he really likes them.
Something about One More Time Deluxe was asked.. I don’t remember the exact question, but he mentioned that there are 7 new tracks!
Travis was asked about what his favorite stadiums played were, or what potential bucket list stadiums were on his list. He was classic Travis chill answer and was like “everywhere”. He said he liked to play everywhere, that’s it’s just the fans that make the venue special. “I play with my eyes closed half the time anyway”. He also mentioned that SOFI was really cool (as it should be!.. pretty sure that’s their biggest show to date). Someone also asked if they would ever go to Indonesia, and he said he’d love to get an Asia tour going, but there was no obvious commitment to the answer.
Someone asked about some favorite band openers so far. He was going to say any favorites of course, he said everyone has been amazing. JXDN was mentioned.. but he pointed out that everyone on this tour is vetted/chosen by them, because they truly like them and want them there.
That’s all I can think of at the moment.. maybe some comments will jog up some more details. :D

Crap, how could I forget!! Travis is also obsessed with connect 4! They even had some little custom boards with pink / teal (Untitled) color pieces. The organizer said he basically always just wants to get straight to connect 4! Apparently only 4 people on the entire tour so far has beaten him… and while it wasn’t me :( … we can add number 5 from Columbus!
He was asked “why connect 4?”… and he said just because it’s so quick. Someone asked who wins the most from blink, but he laughed and said Mark And Tom don’t play with him. He plays a ton with MGK though. There’s also no clear winner between the two of them. They go back and forth with wins.
Also, there was a girl that had over 50 blink tattoos! Travis really dug checking it out.
