Used a texturizer on my hair but not much happened..

I have 4c hair and I just texturized my hair using the ors olive oil girls texture softener, it’s a very mild texturizer. I had a perm a few years ago but I wasn’t taking the best care of it so I put in protective styles, grew it out and cut off all the permed hair. Since then I’ve sworn by braids and if you knew me, most of the time my hair was in braids. There was never rlly a time where I had my hair just out without any kind of style. I decided that I wanna start having my hair out more but I rlly want it to retain its length. I don’t want it straight like before but it goes past my shoulders and I’d like if it could stay like that without needing heat or anything to stretch it so much. After using the texturizer there is a difference because usually after washing my hair it shrinks all the way to my head and after it hung down a bit to my forehead and I also didn’t need a blow dryer to stretch it. I only used a couple products and put it in twist and I was able to get some stretch. Even with all this though I wasn’t satisfied with the result..I had it in for the max time which was 30 mins and thought it would at least look similar or close to the girls hair on the box but no..I was deceived ✊🏾😔. My hair is rlly coarse and I know it can handle a lot so my question is do I have to wait the recommended amount of time (6-10 weeks) before texturizing it again? Because since it didn’t do much and my hair is still rlly coarse I feel like I could do it a little earlier than that but I don’t want my hair falling out or anything if it’s too much. Also if anyone has any suggestions on what texturizer I should use next, pls share!! But make sure it doesn’t have formaldehyde in it..definitely don’t want that in the ingredients..
