Is learning the base hard?

Hi everybody! I’ve been for a very long time considering learning the bass, but I don’t know where to start. I think I have a decent choice for a guitar (Yamaha TRBX174). I’m excited to start learning and I think it’s gonna be a long yet fun ride (he he ride, like ride the lightning he he). Any tips for beginners?
