Trump has signed an EO eliminating federal funding for GAC for anyone 19 or under. Am I allowed to sound the alarm yet?

I specifically want to hear from right wingers. Ideally those who voted for Trump but I know not every conservative on this sub did or likes him. So yall feel free to chime in too. I already know how those on the left will answer, they’d be in agreement with me. Hopefully we are reaching a point where conservatives just might be as well.

I’ve been saying since his first term that it was never about kids. I’ve been saying since his first term that trans kids are the easy litmus test to go after adults next depending how that’s received by the genpub. I was called an alarmist, a hysterical triggered liberal with stage 5 TDS, a predator who wants to groom kids and everything in the book.

Why specifically 19? Adulthood has been 18 for quite awhile, and still is right now. So why not just say minors, why specifically write 19 and under into the EO? Because from where I’m sitting it seems like he’s dipping his toe in the water for a full HRT ban for all trans people of any age, adult or minor. Which is exactly what I said would happen before the election and everyone called me crazy.

I live in Texas so my state will absolutely not back me up on this. I still have like a months supply, and I get my HRT through a private company who sends me 3 months at once. This company gets no federal funding so I’m probably fine for now, then again so much has happened already and it’s only been 8 days. I think eventually he will try to come after private as well, citing something about “infecting society”.

I don’t understand how any of this helps everyday struggling people. I’m a CNA. I take care of people for a living. I served this country in the Air Force and have lingering mental health issues that were exacerbated because of it. He wants to kick people exactly like me who are currently serving out of the military for no reason. These people have served honorably, and haven’t had any disciplinary or medical issues.

I guess my question is why can people not just leave us alone? I understand not every conservative agrees with this, and I understand if you don’t know any trans people it’s easy to not care about this gross overreach of executive powers which conservatives used to be against.

All I want, all I’ve ever wanted was to live and be left alone to live my life. It’s all most trans people have ever wanted. This president is treating us like we’re literal demons in human suits. And his supporters I’ve mentioned it to are either pretending it’s not happening, admit it but don’t care, or are actively cheering it.

So can I get a conservative to call this out for what it is? Because I can’t think of single solitary reason why that EO had to specify 19 and younger and couldn’t just say “minors” other than exactly the one I listed.

What has to give for us to be considered people and just as human as everyone else? The science on this is mostly settled whether you agree with it or not. The world over the accepted “cure” for gender dysphoria is to transition and to live as that. So why are we seemingly the 2nd biggest problem facing the country today, apparently just beneath immigrants? This is starting to feel an awful lot like a crusade. Seriously this doesn’t help anybody. Leave us alone and let us live! Please!
