What's Your Idea Of Romance?

M46 from New Zealand here. Stereotype here is that we're not very romantic stoic/harden up. America men stereotype here is they're crybabies.

I've been with my wife since 2000. She's awesome. We don't do the typical romantic things. Flowers, chocolate meh. Valentines day forget it. Extravagant birthday gifts eh.

We do value experiences though. Hike, walk on the beach, weekly dine outs. It was her birthday yesterday so we went out for dinner with her sister and partner. After that of to a pub and comedy show.

Today got up before 7am made her coffee. Later on cooked her eggs Benedict for breakfast.

Day to day she does the laundry I do most of the rest. And I do most of the cooking. Special events she normally cooks. Instead of chocolate give her a bag of chips (chicken or cheese and onion types).

So what do you like? Big gestures, no gestures, day to day stuff? All of the above? Me completely useless for Valentines day/anniversary. Walk along the beach, go for nature walk or look at wildlife (seals, penguins, sea lions, albatross etc) I'm out the door already.
