Possible move to Chicago from KC?

Hi!

What advice would you give someone moving to Chicago from KC? I have two young sons. My profession is counseling, so I’m not too worried work-wise as it’s generally available in most places. My youngest has an IEP, so schools that work well in those scenarios would be ideal. It’s just my income alone, and I’d like to live somewhere not insanely expensive but also safe. Just a lot to consider, and wanting some insight from this wonderful community.
