Modern anime similar to old Key especially Clannad?

Hi there I stopped watching anime for a long time. Clannad and Key Visual Novels are still one of my most favorite one. In recent 5-7 years, are there any animes similar to Clannad? What I want is comedy with serious plot, sometime can make me cry. I cried a lot watching Clannad tho. Not much similar to Clannad are also welcomed. Thanks a lot.
