*sigh* recovery isn’t going well
Hello 👋 I’m looking for words of wisdom and experience. I had a perennial abscess that was drained & packed on 9/17. My incision wasn’t healing correctly, about 2cm of it, so my CRS used silver nitrate to cauterize the area. I was hopeful, but for the past week or so, it’s just become a smaller version of what it looked like before cauterization. I’m experiencing some draining (ie. Cauterization def didn’t work) that’s yellow & quite cloudy. I’ve also noticed that this same type of drainage is now coming from my rectum 😓 I emailed my doctor because I don’t have an appointment on the books.(update: he told me to continue with home care & if it’s still draining in a month, I should go back to his office). Post cauterization, the vibes were giving very much “you’re done after this heals!” Has anyone else had these symptoms? Can you tell me how you got out of this?
I’m just so beyond frustrated 😭 I don’t know if I trust this CRS very much so I’m just feeling blah. When I first went to him, he doubted that I had an abscess before performing a colonoscopy back in July so I came out of that colonoscopy with the diagnosis that I don’t have crohns & it’s just a fissure! Ended up back in his office a couple weeks later for him to tell me “you do have an abscess!” I was scared and was trying to avoid surgery so he kept me on antibiotics for almost a month before scheduling a surgery in September. Feeling very defeated. Thanks ahead of time. We are the strongest soldiers, I swear to god 😤😤
