Altras for flat feet?
So I have flat feet, no arch at all, severe over pronation to the point when the edges of my foot are slightly off the ground and all the weight rests on my lack of an arch. I’m in the military so we do running every week and I can tell you that’s a lot of fun to do with no arches. I bought Xeros shoes to try to run in but my ankle felt way too unstable and I felt like I was slamming into the ground so I keep those for trails and walking instead. I went to a running shoe store and of course they rushed to get the maximalist shoes to “help” my condition the thickest brooks in the store a 1inch high sole and I do like them when running but I’ve been stretching my foot out more to get better spread and when I run with them I can feel the inclination to spread but I can’t because the toe box is narrow and I know for a fact that it’s too narrow from me unable to wear my toe spacers in them. I can run in them but like with most shoes I used to wear with all that support and cushion my foot just pronates way too much when walking and standing in them. I’ve also noticed that sometimes when I sprint wearing them my arch area is sore the next day so that’s good I think?
So now that leads me to Altras. I see a wide toe box but I also see some support to help with the transition and just having feet as flat as mine.
