Future of Accounting w.r.t AI?

Hey r/Accounting , I recently came across this video interview by a16z. It was about the recent hype in artificial intelligence in the context of accounting. Now I am not an accountant by profession, actually currently Junior studying CS and DS. I just wanted to ask about your opinion on the video, is it really true that the accounting industry in terms of technology is so far behind?
