Can Graveborns die?

During the main story quest ludovic says that he realised being a graveborn is some middle space between life and death, where they are not still alive but trapped in a living shell that feels hollowed inside. His ultimate wish is therefore to pursue complete death.

Doesn't this imply that Graveborns are unable to die? Since if that was possible then Ludovic would have found a way to kill himself long ago (he's like really old).

If the above is true, then does that mean that Nara is still alive? But then how is that possible, because didn't she get eaten by the Kraken?
