Hesitant about ADHD meds

Has anyone else been hesitant or is hesitant about meds. I struggle a lot with my ADHD. Like severly and it gets in the way of a lot of stuff, including important stuff. Im 22 and have never been on any type of meds for adhd. My parents didnt want me on them, but even after I turned 18 I was hesitant and still am.

Is there anything to be hesitant about? Am I just overthinking? Because my adhd really does affect me & it gets in the way.
