Hyper mobile individual training tips.

Had a session with my coach the other day who noticed I was hyper mobile. He mentioned it being a disadvantage in tennis.

I have noticed it being a problem in the past. I can’t “whip” my forehand as if I fully loosen up on the take back I would hit the back of my leg.

My serve is particularly problematic as if I don’t consciously maintain control of my wrist or elbow then my hand flies everywhere when I drop the racket.

Do any of you have any specific tips for playing tennis with hyper mobility? I can’t seem to achieve the full arm looseness required for powerful hitting because I need to consciously stop my joints going past a certain point without losing control of the ball.

I’m going to work on it with my coach, obviously, but wondered if anybody here had anecdotal experience that would help.

I’ve been playing around 3 years now, and, for some reason or other (mainly my own ignorance) it’s only just come to light.
